I just got back from a beautiful trip to Los Cabos, Mexico! It was fun and soooooo beautiful! Taking an insta-worthy picture was too easy with the scenic background but of course I enjoyed dressing to impress in the bright and beautiful city :) Below are some looks I came up with, featuring Miss Tunica and AMI Clubwear! Let me know what you think <3.

Coverup: Miss Tunica "Augustine- Crystal White." Can be found on

Absolutely adore this coverup because the design is flashy yet super simple! A girl always needs a little shine :)

Swimsuit: AMI Clubwear's "Sexy Red Halter Zipper Cheeky Two Piece Swimsuit." Love how playful & fun this suit is!

Anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE my matching sets. And if they're printed? OMG YAS. I also got this super cute, floral co-ord set from AMI Clubwear! It was perfect for a fun date night with bae <3

Ask Kennedy

Happy Sunday friends!

As you may have seen on Instagram and Facebook, I decided to do an "Ask Kennedy" post so you could get to know me a little bit more. I thought it would be an awesome chance for me to answer any questions you may have about my life, my fitness routine, or anything your heart desired. Thank you to all who participated :) Here it goes!

What's your blogging niche?

My "niche" is definitely lifestyle. My life has many different sides and I love to share all aspects on my blog. Fashion, fitness, health, food, and fun are all things I'd like to share!

How long have you been blogging?

This blog has only been up for a few months but I did have a blog up before when I was Miss Maryland's Outstanding Teen. The blog featured my experiences on the job. I've always thought blogging was a fun way to share a piece of my life and to do what I love to do: write :)

Any advice for people who want to try out for cheer even though they’ve never cheered before?

Go for it. This applies not only to cheer but anytime you're thinking of getting out of your comfort zone and trying something new. Sometimes you can be your worst enemy but it's important to be confident and strong enough to try.

Do you have a quick 30 minute workout routine for people who don't have a lot of time?

This really depends on what area(s) of the body you'd like to work. When I'm pressed on time, I LOVE doing quick circuit training with a few of my favorite exercises, a warm up, and a cool down. This is an example of a great one if you want a full body workout with little time. (Creds to

Do you have a workout routine?

I would like to say yes but honestly it varies. I do lots of different things to stay in shape including dance (cardio), weight lifting, yoga, and barre. I think my key to physical health is constantly keeping my body guessing by mixing it up and trying new things. Pure Barre is one of my favorite workouts because no two classes are the same. Every class your body is forced to try something new and take itself to new heights. Also love the group workout environment.

What do you do fun during your "ME TIME"?

I love to eat LOL and try new places. You'll definitely find me at a Mexican Restaurant during "me" time for a chance to unwind and relax.

That's it for today :) Thanks for reading!

Five Minute Journal

Five Minute Journal

Hey amigos!

Today I thought I'd write to you about my experience with the "Five Minute Journal." After hearing so much talk about how it, I thought I'd give it a shot! Just to give you some background info on me, I love to write (obviously). I think keeping track of feelings or thoughts daily is a beautiful thing. But...who actually has time to do that every day? Or if you have time, how often do you actually do it? Well, once a year I always get a new journal and claim this is THE ONE. The one that'll change my life and that I will remember to write in every day. And every lasts about a week. The journals were blank and I think maybe that's why it didn't work for me. There were too many options for what to write about and I would get so overwhelmed thinking about my options that I just gave up.

To be quite frank, I thought the "Five Minute Journal" would be the same way. After all, I thought it was just a journal. But boy was I wrong...This journal is literally made for people like ME. Procrastinators, busy bodies, and excuse-makers alike. The Five Minute Journal takes every reason I've ever had not to write and combats it with tricks to stay on track. They make it so easy and it only takes 5 minutes out of your day!

The Five Minute Journal is your secret weapon to focus on the good in your life, become more mindful, and live with intention.

I could not agree with this statement more. I love that I'm taking the time to reflect on myself, on my day, and really confirm who I am and who I want to be. The daily affirmations force me to be more sure of myself. Overall, this journal allows me to take control of my life in a better way and you'll know exactly what I mean when you get yours. One aspect this journal focuses a lot on is gratitude. I've always believed gratitude was my key to strong mental health and I love that this journal allows me to take the time to appreciate what I have. With gratitude combined with daily quotes to push you through the day, there's an overflowing amount of support at your fingertips.

Get yours now, you won't regret it:

Green Pig Bistro: Review

If you live near Arlington, VA and you haven't been to Green Pig Bistro, visiting ASAP is definitely a must. Located in Clarendon, this super cute restaurant is perfect for your brunch and dinner needs with the girls or a hot date. I happened to bring my hot date (Blair) and we had the best time!

For one, the restaurant itself makes you feel at home. When you add the staff, you have the perfect environment for ultimate hospitality. The lighting really sets the mood here & the décor shapes the way for this modern restaurant.

Green Pig Bistro

Here's what we ate:

So yes...we ate A LOT. LOL. But Green Pig has so many options that of course you want to try as many as possible! Here's what I thought:

The House Made Ginger Brew was by far the most refreshing ginger drink I've ever had. I take a ginger shot once a day for digestion and to keep my immune system strong. Even though I consistently take them, the shots are the furthest thing from tasty. This drink is the opposite. It brings the health benefits of ginger in a sensational and new way.

The Shrimp & Grits were my favorite part of the meal. The grits literally melt in your mouth and the shrimp was seasoned to perfection. Combined, your taste buds will literally be in food heaven. I'm not a big egg person but even the poached egg was so well prepared that I wanted more. Will definitely be getting this again.

My boyfriend ordered (and inhaled) the Fried Chicken & Waffles. I was a little nervous about this one at first for him because he doesn't like food touching. But even with it touching, saying he LOVED it would be an understatement. He couldn't stop talking about how good the sweet taste of the caramelized onions were mixed with the fried chicken. Anytime he's quiet when the food comes out I know something must be pretty good (LOL). The gravy was a perfect compliment because it was subtle, and enhanced the taste of the waffles and chicken. By far the best chicken & waffles he's ever had. Anytime my boyfriend says something is that good, I know it's a win.

Green Pig Bistro

Dessert is my favorite part of any meal, hands down. We tried the caramel apple tart, cinnamon rolls, and scones but by far my favorite was the caramel apple tart. Warm, sweet, and the perfect finish to brunch. I WAS SO FULL! Blair's favorite was the cinnamon rolls and if you try them you'll know why. The icing makes the treat.

Overall, I had the best time at Green Pig Bistro and will definitely be going back! I can't say a single bad thing about my experience which says a lot about the quality of the food, the staff, and the cleanliness of the restaurant. Our server made it that much better by going above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed every bite. If you're ever in town, I highly suggest trying Green Pig Bistro. You'll wonder why you haven't!

New Year: 2017 Reflections & 2018 Goals

2017 is quickly coming to an end which means it's time to take a moment to reflect on the year as a whole and decide what you want to take into 2018. AKA..."New year, new me." I love this time of year because you get the power to decide on your future & who/what you want to bring to it. For me, this year has been incredible in so many ways. From the people I've met, the places I've traveled, and the experiences I've had, this year will definitely be one I'll always remember. I used this year to focus on myself and my PGG (personal growth goals) and wouldn't change a single thing.

2017 Reflections:

  1. Go for it. This new attitude is to thank for stepping foot in 9 new countries this year.

  2. Lay those edges.

  3. If you don't like it, say something. Or leave.

  4. Don't settle for less.

  5. Support your girls. The whole squad eats.

  6. Lay off the sugar.

  7. Kill them with kindness.

  8. It's your life- do whatever you want with it.

2018 Goals:

  1. Get that internship girl

  2. Learn to trust more

  3. Take more time for myself & for my family

  4. Learn to cook (HAHA good luck to whoever's teaching me)

  5. Grow my blog

  6. Weight lift more

  7. Go vegan: hard but so necessary

  8. Donate the clothes I don't need to Goodwill

  9. Pageant?

Overall, I'm happy. Happy I started this blog. Happy I'm getting closer to graduating. Happy I have the people I have in my life. This year required lots of work to get where I wanted to be but I'm here. For that, I couldn't be more proud. Let's do even better in 2018. What are your goals for 2018? Let me know :)

Kennedy & Jordy's Holiday Gift Guide

Happy Holidays readers!

I'm so excited to share this blog with you because I was lucky enough to collaborate with my spirit human, Jordyn of Jordy's Closet. She's such a sweetheart and I'm so happy we've gotten much closer this year. Anyone who knows Jordyn knows that she's the queen of fashion, making her the perfect adviser if you're hoping to shop for a fashionista. I, on the other hand, am a fan of really cute and simple gifts that could make anyone smile. Without further ado, I present to you Kennedy & Jordy's Holiday Gift Guide.

Kennedy's Pick #1:

Headbands ft. Pieces to Peaces

So I can't believe I'm saying this because I've never been into headgear mainly because I thought it looked weird on me- but always thought everyone else wearing them looked super cute. But...after trying headbands and ear warmers from Pieces to Peaces, I am HOOKED. The fit is perfect- not too tight for a Bratz doll sized head like mine and does a really good job of accenting outfits, especially in the winter. Totally recommend for anyone (male & female) wanting a warm option for the season or attempting to spice up their typical outfit. Visit their website here & check out their many options!

Kennedy's Pick #2

Iso Candes

This is by far one of the best gifts you can give someone who loves candles and scents as much as I do! Iso Candles is a local business (and I'm all for supporting local businesses) that creates hand-poured soy candles. When I say every candle I've tried has become my new favorite I'm not joking. It was hard to pick a favorite but I must say their Blueberry Cobbler scent makes my heart smile a little extra. Such a soft scent that fills the whole room with the feeling of home! I love it and so will your scent-loving amigo. Check them out here

My obsession with these pullovers actually began with my boyfriend. He has one that's super cozy and I tried it on one day and didn't want to give it back (LOL). Since then, I was dying for my own. So I got the Charles River Newport Fleece Pullover from Pink Lily Boutique and have been getting so many compliments on it! It's cozy, super warm, and the perfect accent for my day to day activities! If you need a gift that they'll actually get use out of, this is it! And right now you can get it 50% off with code MERRY50. Trust me, they'll be thankful I enlightened you ;). Date Night Guide: The Jar Method

Hey guys!

Have you ever wanted to go out with your significant other but didn't know what to do? Are you tired of the "I don't know, what do you want to do?” Or maybe you're like me and just tired of being the only one planning a date (sorry babe love you HAHA). Well if you answered "yes" to any of these questions, this guide is for you!

Even if you're great at planning dates, sometimes it's fun to let fate choose and let your brain rest. So I've created this little guide to help out with your date night decision, featuring the Jar Method. I actually came across the Jar Method on Pinterest (surprise, surprise) and molded it into my own. When I say it has saved my sanity 100 times I'm not joking.

Date Night Guide
  • What you need: popsicle sticks, sharpie, mason jar (paint too if you wanna be cute)
  • How it works: write a date option on every popsicle stick. Example: movie date, a specific restaurant, gardening- whatever makes you happy. There are tons of lists online w/ date ideas
  • Then what? Place the popsicle sticks in the jar & grab one when in need of an idea for date night!
Date Night Guide
Kennedy's Side Date

I actually made this project a date night and had us brainstorm dates together so we could choose things we both would want to do! Since introducing this method, we've gone bowling, painting, saw a show at the Kennedy Center, tried a new brunch spot, and went to a salsa club: things that we probably would not've done without our jar. Date Night is supposed to be fun, not stressful! And thanks to the Jar Method half of my stress is gone from trying to plan the perfect date :)

Try it and let me know how it works! Excited to hear back from you!

Diary of the No-Rest Queen

Time Management

"You're crazy"

"I don't know how you manage it all"

Anyone who knows me knows that I wear a lot of different hats and a spontaneous hang out session w/ friends often requires moving my schedule completely around. Even though it can be a lot sometimes (most times LOL), I can honestly say that I love everything I do. So I'm going to give you some tips/tricks that have helped me push through the days of no sleep and being on the go.

  1. Love what you do. It's as simple as that. The only reason I even bother to make it through is because even on my worst day I know I'm happy to be there. If you don't love it, get rid of it or work to find the beauty in what you're doing. Sometimes it's as easy as faking it till you make it, boo.
  2. Don't waste your time. Time is precious and there's no point in spending it with people or doing things that don't allow you to be your best self. Boys, jobs, and eating habits included.
  3. TREAT YO SELF: 10 minutes a day for something you love. So I actually learned this one from a friend and it has changed my daily attitude towards everything. Taking just 10 minutes (for me before bed) for your mind to relax and indulge in something that makes you smile allows you to take the time to focus on yourself and really cater to your own needs. For me, I read a chapter of a book before bed and I'm in my happy place. Add a bubble bath & I'm in the clouds LOL.
  4. Stop caring what other people think. Seriously- we're adults. Who cares.
  5. Spread positivity. Encouraging someone else to stay strong/keep going will push you to also have a positive outlook. Supporting one another is really the key to overall growth.
